NASA BIG Idea Challenge

I have been a part of Northwestern's BIG Idea team since it was established 2 years ago. We have been selected as finalists out of over 50 university teams both years.

Last year, we were awarded a grant of $180K to design ACRE: an autonomous rover system designed to facilitate the process of creating lunar infrastructure. We presented to a panel of NASA judges at the conference and were awarded the Systems Engineering award.

This year, I was on the design team for our winning proposal, METALS. While other responsibilities did not allow me much time to contribute to the subsequent prototyping over the summer, select members from our team will be presenting at the conference in Las Vegas this year as well.
